FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 07 May 2026 Dr Malusi Gigaba Launches Dr Malusi Gigaba Digital Home — An Open Library For Public Discourse on Governance and Africa's Future Issued by: The Private Office of Dr Malusi Gigaba, Co-Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Defence (JSCD) Date: 07 May 2026 Dr Malusi Gigaba today announces the launch of Dr Malusi Gigaba Digital Home — an open digital library designed to engage South Africans, scholars, policymakers, and thought leaders on questions of governance, statecraft, economic development, and Africa's next chapter.

Accessible at www.drmalusigigaba.org, the platform is positioned not merely as a website, but as a living repository of public record, ideas, and intellectual engagement — bringing together Dr Gigaba's writings, speeches, policy reflections, interviews, and long-form contributions into a single, structured archive.

At its core, Dr Malusi Gigaba Digital Home is intended to function as a public-facing library of thought — a space where complex domestic, continental, and global issues can be engaged with depth, context, and continuity beyond the limitations of daily news cycles and fragmented public discourse.

The platform emerges from more than three decades of engagement in South African public life and reflects a broader commitment to preserving governance debates, institutional memory, policy reflection, and serious intellectual exchange beyond electoral moments and headline politics.

In a period marked by accelerated information flows and compressed public debate, the platform seeks to contribute meaningfully to discussions on governance, institutional capacity, economic sovereignty, developmental-state thinking, and the evolving role of the state in society.

“I have spent more than three decades in South African public life. One of the lessons those years have taught me is that governance requires spaces where ideas can be engaged seriously — beyond headlines, political cycles, and fragmented commentary.

Dr Malusi Gigaba Digital Home is intended as a contribution to that space: an open library for reflection, intellectual exchange, and public engagement on the future of our country, our continent, and the changing world around us.”

— Dr Malusi Gigaba Confidential to Media — 07 May 2026 Page 1 © Office of Dr Malusi Gigaba Early contributions on the platform engage themes including the developmental state, institutional reform, economic sovereignty, governance systems, and Africa's place in a shifting global order — positioning the platform as a resource for citizens, researchers, students, and policymakers interested in serious public discourse.

Dr Gigaba is scheduled to appear at the Gauteng High Court on 8 May 2026 for a pre-trial conference as part of an ongoing legal process. He remains committed to engaging public issues through appropriate platforms while respecting the integrity of the judicial process.

The platform will be updated regularly, evolving into a growing body of work that supports informed dialogue, governance literacy, intellectual inquiry, and public engagement.
